Rajesh Kumar Shrestha

Executive Director

Rajesh brings over 15 years of experience in environmental conservation and sustainable development. He has led numerous community-based conservation projects across Nepal and has been instrumental in establishing Green Foundation Nepal as a trusted partner in sustainable development initiatives. His expertise lies in participatory governance, climate finance, and community capacity building. Prior to joining GFN, Rajesh worked with international conservation organizations and holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management from Tribhuvan University. He is passionate about empowering local communities to become stewards of their natural resources.

Sunita Tamang

Program Director

Sunita oversees all field programs and community partnerships at Green Foundation Nepal. With a background in social work and community development, she ensures that GFN's programs are culturally appropriate, inclusive, and effectively address the needs of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities. She has specialized expertise in gender mainstreaming, participatory rural appraisal, and community-led conservation. Sunita holds a Master's degree in Development Studies and is committed to ensuring that women and marginalized groups have equal voice and benefit in all GFN initiatives.

Anil Bhattarai

Senior Forest Conservation Officer

Anil leads GFN's forest conservation and REDD+ initiatives. He works directly with community forest user groups to implement sustainable forest management practices and access climate finance mechanisms. With over 10 years of experience in forestry and natural resource management, Anil has helped communities develop forest management plans that balance conservation with livelihood needs. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Forestry and has received specialized training in carbon accounting and REDD+ project development.

Climate Resilience Specialist

Maya coordinates GFN's climate adaptation and resilience building programs. Ram Prasad is dedicated to helping communities achieve economic self-reliance while preserving their cultural heritage and natural resources.
